\u201cThe Tony Hawk Foundation has been empowering communities to create free public skateparks in challenged communities across the U.S. for over ten years. In that time we\u2019ve helped fund over 500 skatepark projects in all 50 States. When our Board of Directors saw the situation for youth in the Pine Ridge community, and the work that local advocates and skaters had done to plan a skatepark as one solution, not only did they vote to support the project, but two members individually donated to it. That was a first. And the short time it took for the Pine Ridge skaters to turn the donation into an actual skatepark was a lesson in expedience.
